As long as I can remember, cigars have always been a part of my life.

A lot of it was spent travelling and sailing around the world, and on every occasion trying out local cigars.
Besides the notable exceptions of Nicaragua, Cuba or the Dominican Republic, no country offers as much quality tobacco and know-how that Indonesia does.
Hopping around this magnificent archipelago, rich in history and natural beauty in every corner, I eventually ended up in Jember where I met Abdul Kabar Muzakir.
He was an extraordinary man with an extraordinary story.

A few decades ago he brought back surreptitiously from Vietnam, Cuban tobacco seeds which he then planted in the rich, black soil of the Jember plains.
I had found my heaven. It was time to fulfill my dream.
A truly Indonesian cigar with a remarkable draw, rich and lavish in flavour without any bitterness.
No blending is involved, 100% of the tobacco comes from Abdul's Cuban tobacco plantations and his production methods that are jealously and secretly guarded to this day.
The result is a cigar that is both generous and smooth, redolent with the flavours of the soil in which its leaves are cultivated. Their essence, their spirit.

This has been a great journey and process. We're hopeful that once you take your first draw of our Esperitu cigar, you'll be able to join us on this pleasurable quest.
